Memorial Day, May 25th 2020. Today we commemorate the war dead and thank them for their sacrifice. We honor their service and remind the families of those lost that their memory lives on. #remember #honor #commemorate
I live across from the Memorial Green in Colchester so I was able to attend the ceremony today presented by Colchester's Donald A. Bigelow Post 54 of the American Legion & Colchester's Honor Guard as they paid tribute to the fallen.
What you can do to honor our fallen?

The Middletown Council of Veterans suggests visiting cemeteries and tidy up military graves. You can check the American flag and replace it, if it looks worn or ragged.
Visit monuments which honor soldiers. Connecticut has many monuments and tributes. Visit this link to see a list of those throughout the state: https://bit.ly/ConnecticutMemorials Hartford Preservation Alliance has a list for Hartford: http://hartfordpreservation.org/monuments
“Remember the Fallen” virtual 21K charity run-walks are based in Hartford, Bridgeport, New Haven, Fairfield, Waterbury and Stamford. Runners can sign up at https://bit.ly/VirtualRunChallengeMemorialDay to participate and raise money for a designated or their chosen military charity.
