I guess it happens to everybody

I have been dismissed from @wesbank for these comments but wait... there’s a rather interesting story behind this.

A thread on how your beloved company treats it staff.

Employer of the year they say.
After being head hunted from my previous company I was hired by Mr Bennett Jan 2016 as IR consultant. I was directly reporting to him and mind you I was the only person nationally doing this role. My cases where JHB, CPT, Bloem and Durban.
In my second year I had always been asked, how do you work with this guy? He has been doing job for over 8 years alone... do you know what happened to the last person etc... I always give people the benefit of the doub and in this instance it wasn’t of any benefit to me.
My role was that I handle all matters end to end however he had the authority to overrule me who obviously was the hyrachy. In 2017 Some matters started sliding past me directly to him. I have to say that these matters where mostly his friends or Snr matters.
I stared asking questions as to why am I given black cases and white people matters are given settlements or warning for charges as harsh as bribery and calling colleagues “the K word”.

I will never forget when he said “Thapelo you are putting a whip to your own back” https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😶" title="Face without mouth" aria-label="Emoji: Face without mouth">
As expected the relationship became stretched. I started receiving warnings for coming to work 10 min late. There was one specific incident he called me as I landed at Lanseria at 10 pm that he wanted a certain file at his desk by 6. I adhered by it got Harder as time went by.
1 old black man (58) was fired for abuse of company property. He was 2 years to retirement. He used the van to prepare for his wife’s funeral. A friend of Mr Bennet however was given the opportunity to resign after committing fraud by giving his son a company car and petrol card
I fought for that old man. I fought but the victimization continued. Warnings, penalties on my performance etc so I eventually resigned.

During my notice period I was given an opportunity to move departments which then gave me the access to start representing employees.
Within the 6 months, I represented all kinds of people from all backgrounds against my ex boss and won every single case.

He told my close colleagues that I was insolent and he would deal with me.
I could not sit back and let people get fired. No consistency in rulings. It got so sever that one yt lady got a settlement of 6 months and a voluntary resignation after calling Her colleagues “the K word” https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😐" title="Neutral face" aria-label="Emoji: Neutral face">

How do you fire somebody that’s been with the bank since 1991 ..
For R3000! https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😔" title="Pensive face" aria-label="Emoji: Pensive face"> yes that old man was dismissed for it. I wish I could have done more.

I do not regret fighting for what is right. I love @wesbank and by the time I left I was Chairperson for employment equity amount other accomplishments.

What you see now is me being punished.
I am tired of being victimized. I will do everything to ensure nobody goes through this.

I apologies if my tweets offended anybody. The intention was never to do that. I am actually a great guy https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😄" title="Smiling face with open mouth and smiling eyes" aria-label="Emoji: Smiling face with open mouth and smiling eyes">

Now I must prepare for my very own CCMA case.

ALUTA CONTINUA son of the soil.
