This morning we went out to breakfast.

There are 7 of us total so my husband says “6 and a high chair.”

The hostess says, “Per CDC guidelines we can only seat 5 at a table.”

I laughed, loudly, because apparently I don’t have my filter on that early in the morning.

1/
So we split up into 2 tables.

My 9 yo, 7 yo, and 5 yo at one table. Myself, my husband, my 4 yo and my 1 yo at the other table.

And for about the 656473rd time we had a conversation wondering if people ever simply ask, “but why?”

2/
We live in the same house, but when we eat in public we have to separate.

Because the CDC says so.

For safety? Or what?

Because if we all have COVID, we now just potentially contaminated 2 tables and exposed 2 more households instead of 1.

3/
And apparently because COVID is only dangerous among 6 or more people, but not 5.

What happened to 10 people?

The numbers are all arbitrary.

And so we ate breakfast like this.

I feel discriminated against as a big family.

4/4
I will add here that my discrimination comment was completely tongue in cheek.

Laugh.
I really thought more people would mock me for having my baby in a mask.

I’m disappointed with y’all.
