Hey! Something was brought to my attention regarding @loosethesealsau that I want to address with you guys! There are spoilers in this thread, but it’s important to me to clear the air on this so no one is harmed or upset by my work:

Spoiler here, but Richie is indeed fae and has no idea that he is. Why am I telling you guys this? Because Richie grew up believing he is human, and the modern version of the word “fairy” is often used to demean or taunt gay men.

So let me say now that there is NO homophobia in this au. I also intentionally steer the spelling of the word away from the modern one for that, among many other reasons. However, that doesn’t negate the potential for that to be triggering or upsetting, especially for gay men.

I always want you guys to feel comfortable and safe reading my work. Richie is not, nor has he ever been demeaned for his sexuality in this au, nor will the use of the word “fairy” or any other version of the term be used in that way. Richie is openly gay in this story.

At present, it may seem that he is ‘closeted’ or hiding his fae identity, which can harken to sexuality. However, his identity is meant to be a mystery to him, and his fae heritage is meant to be just that. I’m so sorry if it came across otherwise!
