I cannot comprehend the level of selfishness needed to see 100,000 people in your country dead from something in 3 months and call it "nothing" or a "hoax" so you can go to the beach or get a tattoo, and I cannot comprehend the volume of people capable of such selfishness.

The horrible events of 9/11 killed about 3,000 Americans - and the unified reaction led to maybe the most bi-partisan cooperation in recent American history (including several terrible decisions, but the point remains).

A death toll 30x worse hasn't brought unity. One side has decided that since decimals like 0.5% or 1% look small to them, 100,000 dead people isn't actually a problem and certainly doesn't warrant incredibly minor sacrifices like wearing a mask or not going into huge crowds.
