We are enjoying our pre-dinner nibbles. The 11yo has put on a three-piece suit for the occasion (no tie). #FancyDinner

We have asked the smart speaker for dinner party music and are bemused by the result.

First course: Clawston Blue trifle - layers of home-made rosemary digestive, pickled pear, and a blue cheese cream. (All recipes from the @TerreaTerre cookbook and cooked by my 13yo).

That was AMAZE. Really well-balanced dish, & he executed each element SO WELL. He’s now prepping the main - and has brought in the ‘wine’ pairing- Red Shloer (the children had white with the starter). Fancy conversation is taking place (7yo is putting her hand up before speaking)

Smart speaker has been asked for ‘Swing’, which is more more pleasing than the previous oddness.
