I realize that this seems out of character, but it would be great if you take some time to consider today how to cultivate gratitude for the sacrifices others have made.

Sometimes I find it difficult to remember to be thankful for even a minute or two, before complaints and gripes worm their way into my thoughts.

It takes some thoughtful effort to remember that a great number eighteen-year-olds volunteered to fight, be wounded, and die for my right to complain freely, and post it wherever I want to.

Even those who did not volunteer, but responded faithfully, are deserving of great gratitude.

This is a day set aside to remember. Please take some time.
