Indian Army chief had asserted that Nepal govt was pushing border dispute at the behest of 'someone else' The Defence Min of Nepal has said that Chief's comments are hurtful to Gurkhas who have served in the Indian Army. He insinuated that Nepal considers fighting India. THREAD:
This leadership of Nepal is unabashedly turning the country into a client state of China. China's plan is an expansionist one, and will continue to destroy Nepal's Hindu roots until there is nothing left. India will be left with another hostile neighbour.+
India will be forced to close the borders as it will be no longer viable to continue with this friendly 'Roti-Beti' arrangement with a Hindu neighbour turned Chinese proxy. India's national security will be at risk. This is a worst-case scenario, but the decline is already fast.+
Nepalis have strong economic ties with India, a large amount in remittances is sent back by Nepali migrants. More than 7 lakh non-resident Nepalis are based here. Nepal-made goods have a growing market in India. Then there are the Nepalis in the Indian Army+
Apart from Gurkha regiments, there are Indian Nepalis that serve in our forces, and take up top posts as well. They champion Indian patriotism. Threats from Nepal reduce their chances of being viewed without suspicion. A horrible thought, but who'd hv imagined Nep serving China?+
Then there is the demand for Gorkhaland in India, which the ruling party is subtly sympathetic to, but Nepal's Commie govt's rants have ruined their chances of achieving statehood. India will hv to add China's client state's hostility to the equation. In case of a Gorkha state+
China will view a Strong political representation for Nepali Indians as an opportunity to bolster espionage & it will even dream of fueling secessionism. So this is a risk India will not take until the China threat is removed.

Too much is at stake for Indo-Nepal to go downhill
What Nepali Commies & China fail to factor in their plan is that Nepali citizens of India are mostly a pro-BJP, nationalist & patriotic lot. They sympathise with India's cause. Many hv family back in Nepal. They'll blame the Oli govt hands down & they'll make that point back home
