I sincerely hate being That Asshole every time, I do, but when a significant portion of white artists announce "Oh, there's discourse" and publicly declare that they are going to not engage with it and the topic du jour is "Is it racism" that sorta looks bad.

You can just... not. Say. Anything. If you can't handle it or don't have the spoons. It's okay to not engage with every subject, but when the subjects are serious and people are getting loads of shit for it and there's a big collective avoiding it and it looks performative?

I only mention this at all because I've been that person and got told why it could be construed as dismissive. I'm an autistic person so I often need people to decipher how I "hit" and this was something explained to me.
