Two years ago today we won. I was sitting in a bar with Wendy, Helen, & Bairbre when we got the exit poll just after 10pm & we could feel a palpable difference in the atmosphere when the news came in. A personal
of #RepealMemories below

I broke my heart along with many other canvassers across East Clare and North Tipp, mostly very rural areas, and all within about 30 miles either side of Killaloe-Ballina. Here's our joint county team photo! #RepealMemories
Badges were scarce for ages and we were very excited when they finally arrived in our neck of the woods! Our @parentsforyes badges were the shiz #MammiesForYes #RepealMemories
Rural canvassing FTW, although I also remember the same night this photo was taken, being very shaken because a man was so angry us that he just about stopped himself from hitting me #RepealMemories
Clonlara! And Meelick, I think - was it @rebeckhadoyle? It all started to blur into one big canvass after a couple of months #RepealMemories
We were also tailed by an @IrishTimes journalist one whole weekend in Kilkishen, Bridgetown, Broadford, O’Brien’s Bridge, and O’Callaghan’s Mills, and he wrote it up here. It was a bit unnerving having him on the doorsteps with us! https://www.irishtimes.com/news/ireland/irish-news/abortion-issue-dividing-generations-villages-and-families-1.3503304 #RepealMemories
Last ditch effort the night before the vote on the canal bridge in Killaloe. Had we done enough? We were in a panic #RepealMemories
The morning of the count, Lisa @ThisIsKnit held a craft festival, and everything looked like this. Myself and @bioniclaura just sat at the back, holding each other, and obsessively checking our phones for tallies. #RepealMemories
This was such a long time coming. I don't think we felt celebration at winning, just sheer relief, as @betaburns has so excellently phrased it, and then fatigue. This is baby's first protest (he's in the sling), in 2013, because the 8th amendment hurt him too #RepealMemories
Standing outside the Dáil early in March that year (2013), pregnant and afraid of this amendment, and determined to do something about it #RepealMemories
Way more exciting than @IrishTimes picking up on my blue marker sign that I coloured in instead of working that day (sorry Lisa!) was @amandapalmer picking it up and tweeting it! This is from 2012 #RepealMemories
So many more people and pics but these are some of my fave #RepealMemories. Can we talk about #RepealFuture now? The legislation review is due end 2022. We need access, 3-day-wait, & exclusion zones addressed in this. It's not over yet, here is why -> https://www.abortionrightscampaign.ie/2019/05/24/the-8th-is-gone-but-the-fight-is-far-from-won/
