2. Flight-Lieutenant Angelina Bosha - Air Force of Zimbabwe’s first and only female fighter jet pilot.
3. Flight Lieutenant Anita Mapiye - The first helicopter combat pilot in the Air Force Of Zimbabwe, 2019.
4. The first all female flight deck crew on the Air Zimbabwe Boeing 737 - achieved by Captains Elizabeth Simbi Petros and Chipo Matimba who flew from Harare to Victoria Falls in 2015.
5. Captain Amsale Gualu - The first female captain in the history of Ethiopia in 2010. She is also the first female captain on the Boeing 767, Boeing 777 & Boeing 787 in Ethiopia. And she is also the second African female pilot to command a Boeing 787.
6. Captain Aluel Bol Aluenge - South Sudan’s 1st female pilot rose to the position of captain with major American airline company Delta Air Lines after working with Ethiopian Airlines & Fly Dubai in 2018. @aluelb
7. Adeola Ogunmola Sowemimo - the first Nigerian female to fly the gigantic Boeing 787 Dreamliner at Qatar Airways & to fly the Boeing 767 Aircraft across the Atlantic.
8. Captain Irene Koki Mutungi - 1st female on the African continent to become certified as a Captain of the Boeing 787 "Dreamliner" aircraft. Joined Kenya airways in 1995 as their 1st female pilot & in 2004, became the1st African woman to qualify to captain a commercial aircraft.
9. Lieutenant Ouma Laouali (Niger 2015) - 1st female Nigerien pilot at the age of 28. She was one of the Nigerien Airforce members trained by the United States as part of a programme to help fight the Islamist terrorist group Boko Haram.
10. Esther Mbabazi - 1st female Rwandese pilot in 2012 aged 26. “Times have changed,” she told CNN. “Women are out there working. Technology has changed, & everyone has the brains to do something. Now it’s not about how big your biceps are or how much energy you have.”
11. Patricia Mawuli - Ghana’s first female civilian pilot in 2009 & the 1st woman in West Africa certified to build & maintain Rotax engines.
12. Chinyere Kalu - 1st Nigerian female commercial pilot & the 1st woman to fly an aircraft in Nigeria in 1981. In 2011, she was appointed the rector & chief executive of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, which is the largest aviation training institute in Africa.
13. Asli Hassan Abade - The 59-year-old Hassan Abade is to date Somalia’s 1st & only female pilot, having made her 1st flight in 1976 as part of that country’s air force.
14. Asnath Mahap - 1st South African female pilot to acquire an Airline Transport Pilot Licence & to become a commercial pilot in South Africa.
15. MandisaNomcebo Mfeka - the first black female fighter pilot in the South African Air Force.
