If you like to learn about any and everything like me, History 101 on Netflix is worth every second! đŸ‘ŒđŸŸ
Making this a thread for my fellow documentary lovers đŸ€—

“Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich” is about a wealthy, manipulate pedophile from the mouth of some #MeToo survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and everything surrounding their experiences from his female aid to his connections.
“The Family”: 8/10 educational but boring in some parts.

An in-depth 5 part docuseries about a corrupt Christian group, called “The Family/Fellowship” working under the guise that they’re doing God’s work, and the role they play in USA & governments others all over the world.
“Minimalism”: 9/10 this had my shirt “rumfle up” from @ 27 mins.

Do you need this? Who said you needed this? Is it a need if you can do without it? Exactly. Why do you need these things to have a good life? Who determines what a good life is? Exactly... so live to suit YOU!
“Explained”: 10/10. Similar to History 101 but with more topics like diamonds, meat, monogamy and our current dilemma with COVID-19, pandemic!

“There are only 3 things that are inevitable in this world; death, taxes & flu pandemic!”
“Rotten”: 8/10. Each episode discusses a major food/drink we depend on, it’s history and problems we may have never heard about.

Made me extremely grateful that I live somewhere where I can buy meat & vegetables directly from the source or grow my own đŸ™đŸŸ
“Clive Davis: The Soundtrack Of Our Lives”: 10/10.

Almost every single song/artist who had made an impact on our lives, this man broke into the industry; from classical to instrumentals to hip hop & rap! His fluidity in music also bleeds into his sexuality and I must stan!!
“The Black Godfather”: 9/10.

Clarence Avant “handled” everything in black Hollywood from politicians like Jimmy Carter & Barack Obama to music with Snoop Dogg, Janet Jackson & Babyface and sports. He never requested money for helping anyone and earned respect & power this way!
“Killer Women with Piers Morgan” & “Serial Killer with Piers Morgan”: 7/10.

Piers Morgan interviews criminals incarcerated for murder/manslaughter, most of whom are sentenced to life. No surprise here, most plead their innocence but he’s rough with them & doesn’t back down!
“Dolly Parton: Here I Am”: 8/10.

My opinion of her, based on her appearance, was that she’s daft and I stand corrected. Instead of giving it all away, I’ll say one thing... no one knows what her husband looks like and they’ve been married since 1966! MUST STAN!
“Remastered: The Lion’s Share”: 7.5/10.

PERFECT example of how others copying/stealing your original product is truly theft and usually doesn’t benefit the originator.

“Africa, may the day be forever over when the riches that you have are stolen by other people”
“How to Fix A Drug Scandal: 7/10.

Limited docuseries about how the people behind the scenes (2 specific cases Annie Dookhan - overachiever & Sonja Farak - turned drug addict) have the power to affect someone’s freedom or incarceration and their lack of care in doing their jobs.
“The Pharmacist”: 10:10!

Was unsure if to recommend this because I wasn’t sure if anyone would watch it. I almost didn’t based on the title but this was worth every second!! Pleaseeee watch and STOP romanticizing pills & pain relief! đŸ™đŸŸđŸ˜
“The Keepers”: 9/10

This watched like a thriller, shout out to the director Ryan White! đŸ‘ŒđŸŸ

Layers & layers & layers of what happens after a nun is murdered. The archdiocese, church, policemen, families & more cover up a murder and MORE 😳
“Three Wives, One Husband”: 7.5/10

Not saying I’m drinking the kool-aid but I expected to laugh at them and... I kinda get it.

Would I do it? No. Is my Christian belief more right then theirs or vice versa? Idk. Do whatever makes you happy as long as you’re not hurting others.
“Bikram: Yogi, Guru, Predator” : 6.5/10.

Very interesting presentation of how privilege & connections means power. Another man would be arrested but...
“Disclosure”: 10/10!

Representation matters more than you expect and this confirms it. A lot of our negative opinions on transgender women & men subconsciously come from how they’re depicted on the tv screen. A necessary documentary and helped with some of my ignorance đŸ™đŸŸâ€ïž
“Hasan Minhaj: Homecoming King”: 9.5/10.

I watch all the stand up specials but THIS deserves to be mentioned. One of the most entertaining ones I’ve ever seen and I don’t even remember him cursing once to land jokes! Def the best I’ve seen in a loooong time đŸ˜‚đŸ‘đŸŸ
“Seven Seconds”: 9/10.

Very relevant seeing how black lives are treated as less than. Roller coaster of emotions because it’s VERY true to everything that happens when another black life is taken by the hands of a police officer 😞
“Trump: An American Dream”: ??/10

Was avoiding this in my suggestions for sooo long but finally gave in. One of the craziest things I learned is he divorced Ivana Trump after 3 kids together because and I quote, “I don’t want to sleep with a woman who’s had children” đŸ€Ż
