not finding her heâs dejected and heartbroken. teary eyed he starts walking away from the last place he thought heâd find jhilmil. shruti is walking alongside him, thinking now that Jhilmil is not there anymore, barfi can finally be with him...
as theyâre walking down the stairs, jhilmil opens the window and shouts âbarfiiâ, barfi canât really hear her as heâs deaf. shruti hears jhilmil and sheâs frozen. she has the choice of not letting barfi know and theyâll be together forever...
she pauses for a while, with tears in her eyes she turns towards barfi. barfi looks at her puzzled, probably thinking what made her look back...
doing the hard but the right thing, shruti chooses to let him know. misty-eyed she points towards the window from where jhulmilâs calling barfi. barfi looks ecstatic, wipes off tears and starts combing his hair(?)seeing shruti sad, he signals her to smile

barfi runs towards the orphanage to get jhilmil, while shruti looks dejected yet happy for him. knowing her dream to be with barfi will never come true

although the director took a lot of inspiration from other movies, barfi is still one of the best movies from India in recent times
