So Cummings chose to go back to Downing St after seeing his sick wife, and knowing PM had Covid 19.
"For years I' ve warned about dangers of Pandemics." This explanation has already got worse.
"ARGUABLY this was a mistake." Oh mate.
"We agreed to go for a short drive to see if I would be ok. We drove for about HALF AN HOUR." Actually seeing inside Dominic Cummings head and the cavalier risk taking. Who thought this news conference would be a good idea?
Is someone keeping a tally of just how many times and how many lockdown laws and rules (including the Highway Code) Cummings has already admitted to having broken?
On people's belief that he broke Lockdown laws and rules: "I understand these views, but I respectfully disagree." And there we have it.
Both PM and Cummings can agree that neither of them remember what they said in a key conversation.
"I don't regret what I did. Reasonable people may disagree." Actual quote.
"Arguably it was a mistake.. but I have to make decisions like that every day." There it is again.
With my Newswatch head on, on behalf of viewers everywhere: ASK SHORT CLEAR QUESTIONS. JUST ONE AT A TIME.
Cummings now explaining his "default mode".
Asked if he owes the public an apology, Cummings repeats his line: "I behaved reasonably and legally as I said."
Wait, Cummings has said something is "regrettable". But it turms out he means media coverage and nothing to do with his behaviour.
"No i did not consider it." Resigning, he means.
Did I miss who gave him the "expert medical advice" that made him decide to drive around the nation? Was it a member of Sage?
The driving around for HALF AN HOUR when his eye sight was "weird" to see if he was safe to drive is actually his reasonable explanation. I have to confess this is really freaking me out.
"Although we were both ill I couldn't look after a 4 year old. My wife could." Think about that admission.
He won't apologise but he feels "extreme sympathy" for single parents. The weird thing is that the press he accuses of being to blame for the whole row are offering him a way out here - to say sorry.
"I didn't think it right to expose anyone to a deadly disease" says Cummings on his decision not to seek help in London but to drive instead to Durham.
Cummings: "I wanted to come back and help with the whole disaster." I think it's fair to say you've done just that.
Cummings has described his wife being "close not to be able to look after" his child as an extreme emergency.
Cummings again emphasising that he's written LOADS about the danger of pandemics. Now where have I heard the "I've written about.." as a claim of expertise before?
Well outstanding questions are:
When did PM & No10 team 1st know about the trip to Durham?(given PM had tested positive others wd hv been involved)
Who gave you the "expert medical advice"?
Why didn't your wife drive?
Why couldn't you look after your own son if she was sick?

Oh and one more question for Dominic Cummings: WHY COULDN'T YOU WORK FROM HOME? (I suspect the answer is quite revealing about the way No 10 is run)
