illegal logging destroyed dry forests in Northern Nigeria. On National Parks, they are all owned by FG under National Park Service except Yankari Games Reserve that was handed over to Bauchi State Govt, a few years ago. However, Yankari under Bauchi is suffering from poor

funding and mismanagement.
The @FMEnvng needs to remind the states of their mandate to manage local renewable resources with support from the communities. The FG and states also need to review 1978 Land Use Act and the Nigeria Forest Policy. The Act is no longer practicable,

and the Forest Laws in most Northern states are still a reflection of colonial-draft documents.
