Neighbor: ‘’Em Nurse, I fit see any strong antibiotics for your side?’’.

Me : No. I don’t have.

He: Shebi na hospital you dey work?

Nigbayen wa nko? 🙄

Some people think that Nurses hoard drugs in the hospital abi pack medicines home .
The Hospital is not like an eatery where you take some rice home. My dear, if see any medication in my hand, I bought it with my money. Nobody shares free medications for Nurses and other health workers in the hospital!

For every medication you give, you document.
Depending on the hospital policy ,some hospitals provide drugs for their patients and add to their bills, while some write prescriptions for patients to get their medications themselves .

We don’t take drugs belonging to patients, and we don’t accept drugs from patients.
Nothing like , ‘’Aunty Noosi I dash you, go dey use this melicine’’.
In fact, if you work in a unit where they hand over glucometer strips, Emergency tray medications. If they eventually get missing, you won’t go home until you provide them. You have not closed your shift niyen
There’s nothing like, becos you are a Nurse , every month you are entitled to 10 antihypertensives, 9 anti diabetics, 8 Antibiotics, 7Antipsychotics, 6 Antehelmethic, 5Anti inflammatory , 4 Anticoagulant,
3AntiMalaria ,2anti convulsants ,1 anti anxiety.
Aunty kor, Brother ni.
Where I work, even if a patient has drugs that they won’t be needing again, we let them know. Some of them might decide to donate it to other patients who can’t afford them ,but need them.
