AHHH! The concrete casting came out so good!
I'm going to do a little work to age it, but first, coffee
This precious child will be named Bogomil
I need a syringe for this aging process. Do you think I'll be able to find one of my syringes? I'm skeptical
I found my syringe, so Step 1 of aging is to dribble muriatic acid so it exposes the aggregate where we want
Step 2: Dribble an iron acetate solution onto the area with the exposed aggregate, and then add an oxidizer to turn it into a rusty stain. In this case, the oxidizer is hydrogen peroxide, but bleach also works, as does good, old-fashioned air if you don't mind waiting longer
PS: Iron acetate can be made by soaking steel wool in vinegar for a couple days, and you can also use it to ebonize woods that are high in tannins, like oak
PPS: Don't do this on your patio because the solution will stain your concrete slab with the same zeal it stains your concrete object.

Unless you want to! My favorite flooring type is polished concrete stained orangey-red with iron
The last step I'm going to do for aging this thing is to rub a dilute solution of india ink into its surface and wash it off. I'm not going to video that though because it's boring to watch
