Early in Jonnuās career the Titans designed some āgimmickyā plays to just get him the ball.
You can see a little bit of why here. Heās electric with the rock.

Now getting into his most obvious strengthsā¦ Heās a YAC monster. He rarely, if ever, goes down on first contact and is regularly gaining more yards than he should.
Heās someone who makes the QBās job much easier.

Have to hold on to the ball at the end for sure. But a mean spin and stiff arm to get rid of Patrick Chung and gain another 20+ yards.
It takes a village to bring this man down.

He really does this on almost every reception. Arm tackling will never work on Smith. He turns a two yard catch into a huge 3rd down conversion here.
Tannehill really started to trust Jonnu down the final stretch of last season because of plays like this.
Iām excited to see how they continue to build that chemistry even further this year.

Smith is also the last person you want to leave with any daylight in front of himā¦ heāll make you pay.
6ā3ā 250lbs but can still outrun DBs. He beats Kareem Jackson (4.40 40-yd) and Tyrann Mathieu (4.50 40-yd) in a foot race to the end zone.
Now these are a few things Iād like to see Smith expand on and develop to really take off this year.
I like how he freezes the defender in press with a quick stutter. Doesnāt let him get hands on him and explodes to his spot creating separation. Need more of this.

Another good rep here. Flashes eyes to the QB early in his route. QB puts it in a spot that only he can get to.
Smith adjusts to the throw and rewards him with a 20 yd catch + fight for another 5 yds.

Nice wheel route. Shows his hands late and extends to make the grab knowing heās going to get hit.
The biggest improvement on tape since his rookie year has been his ability to make contested catches.

This improvement showed up in the playoffs too. To this day I donāt believe he actually caught this lol. Good defense but even better offense.
CBs covering Jonnu is a mismatch that I hope the Titans look to exploit even more this season.

Highlighting this play because it shows what type of player he is.
The throw is intercepted but he hustles 90+ yards to make the tackle and give the defense a chance.
Coaches love this stuff.

And oh yeahā¦ just your normal outside toss to your TE for 57 yards.
The Titans really have 3 RBs on the field at all times (AJB, Henry, Jonnu).
Who said running backs donāt matter?

That will be all for the Jonnu thread. He has so much potential and room for growth which makes him a very exciting player.
