So I know a few folks have been struggling of late. For what it's worth, here's the things I'm doing to try and help myself. A thread:
Routine
While a lay in is nice, staying in bed all day isn't a good idea. Try and keep to a routine, get up and a set time, have breakfast, shave and shower, get dressed for the day. You'll feel better than being in nightwear all day. Make your bed too, then it's ready at night.
Diet
While treats are good and allowed when you're feeling tender, try and eat a balanced diet. If you just eat carbs and junk food you'll only feel more lathargic, get some fruits and veggies in there
Alcohol
It's easy to lean back on booze to relax after the day and out of boredom, but it's a depressant. Be careful with drinking if you feel low. If you're doing it every day, maybe try and get some help with it. I have a drink with dinner once or twice a week then stop.
Exercise
I can't swim at the moment, but I'm going to the park at least once a day. The green makes me feel better. Focus on the sounds, smells and sensations. Allow yourself to just be in the moment.
Do things you enjoy to relax
I struggle to relax at the best of times, but cooking, baths and music usually help. Gaming etc can be good for distraction but allow yourself time to settle before bed.
Sleep
Try and keep a regular bedtime. Blurring night and day will mess with you more. Put your phone etc down and read or listen to some music with low lighting. I'm using rain sounds on a sleep timer
Get help if you need it
I realised things were wrong this week when it took me two hours to get to a functional state after work. I had a long chat with my GP who put me on tablets. It's going to take time but there's no shame in asking for help. Don't let it get to crisis point
