The Communist govt in Kerala sworn in on May 25th, 2016, after a landslide victory over the Congress led UDF, winning 91 out of 140 seats. The govt is the most challenged in the history of Kerala to face advesaries like Okhi Cyclone, Floods & now Covid19. Lets see how they fared-
The state electricity production was 87 MegaWatts in 5 years of UDF govt, but during the tenure of LDF govt, it became 205 MegaWatts. Note that this is a comparison between 5 years of UDF govt & 4 years of LDF govt.
GSDP growth rate was 4.9% in 2011-2016, but it rose to 7.2% in 2016-2019, even more than the national GDP of 6.9% at the same period.
The State Health Care expenditure was 7191 crores in 2011-2016. @shailajateacher increased it to 9651 Crores in 2016-2020. 35% increase in 4 years!
One of the major challenges in front of LDF govt was the struggling public education system. In four years, 5 lakh students increased in government schools.
While UDF govt dispersed 9311 crores in the account of Welfare pensions, LDF govt distributed 22000 crores in 4 years. More than double!
Budget allocation for local self governments increased from 7679 crores in 2011-2016 to 12,074 crores in 2016-2020.
2,19,154 houses completed for the homeless families under Kerala Government's Life Mission in last 4 years. One of the biggest achievements of this government.
Compared to 7 lakh people getting pension in UDF tenure, LDF govt is giving pension to 13 lakh people of the state.
36,323 kilometers of water bodies cleaned, 390 kilometers of rivers and lakes cleaned, 53,745 wells recharged, 22,252 new wells etc.
The major highlight of @vijayanpinarayi govt is that amidst the chaos, the govt never let go of the development wheel. It keeps on spinning. Revolutionary greetings to the Communist Government of Kerala on the completion of their fourth year.
