cannot get over this man lying on God ON A SUNDAY.

"Pastor" Michael Todd ain't been to nare seminary... but "he preaching good".

it's cool, I have time today. (thread) https://twitter.com/tfnow/status/1264623752719011841
he is a prosperity theology pastor. and if it sounds familiar, it's bc you've heard of this before. Joel Osteen, Creflo Dollar, Joyce Meyer, the "Lord, I've seen what you've done for others, and I want it for myself" guy.

all live in prosperity theology and popularity doctrine.
prosperity theology is aimed at individuals not having material possessions or monetary gain bc of their lack of faith in God.

popularity doctrine is the teaching of "feel good faith". Christians aren't actually learning; they're just being placated with toxic positivity.
it's good to know what things mean.
so I looked up to see if he was ordained by any denomination. he is not.

I looked up to see if he had been to seminary. inconclusive, but appears he has not.

he was appointed lead pastor of a viral church in 2015. that's all we really know about him and his spiritual formation.
according to the website, his wife is also a lead pastor at their church. it's also not conclusive if she has been to seminary, or if she is just regarded as a pastor bc she is his wife. it's not clear.
the prosperity doctrine is very dangerous. completely goes against biblical teachings on self-worth. it's where a lot of the current "soul ties" conversation and relationship preaching stems from.

...and wouldn't you know, Michael Todd wrote a book on RELATIONSHIPS.
the thing about prosperity theology and popularity doctrine is that not only does it blame you for your perceived lack of success, it says you'll never be on one accord with God because of your lack of success.

this applies to both money AND romance.
prosperity theology:

when rich people come together and "praise God" for the money they hoarded.

when they claim their Bank accounts are that large bc of faith in Jesus and nothing else.

when they claim their marriages are more holy/blessed than all others.
here are some Christians- not all pastors- who live in the prosperity doctrine. some of which RUSHED to Ye after his "conversion".

(Michael Todd is furthest to the right.)
anyway, back to Michael Todd.

this dark-web theology site decided to research Michael Todd to see if he was a false prophet, which lead to researching Transformation Church and it's validity.

they dug into "Pastor" Todd's ass for his alignment to the popularity gospel movement.
I really want to give the relationship bit a little extra.
the relationship series on the church's YouTube is 100% popularity gospel, and to be frank, getting you to hate yourself and buy books is how the prosperity doctrine pastors "enlarge their territory".

and what did Pastor Todd write a book on? relationships.
OF COURSE HE WROTE A BOOK ON RELATIONSHIPS AND WHY YOU DON'T HAVE ONE.

but he had to write that book, bc he preaches this about self-love:
this is the article's conclusion:
this dark-web article and the church's website are my only sources because there's little known about Michael Todd and how he got to where he is.

but I am concerned. I really am.
Todd is charismatic. his delivery is relatable. his whole persona is believable. and he has a very wide reach.

...a concerningly wide reach for someone who is cherry picking scripture to create a narrative that truly preys on loneliness.
do I think the man is a false prophet? right now, yes.

do I want to assume his best intentions? also, yes. I think he means well.

do I think he's doing right by his congregation? absolutely not. for all the above reasons in the thread.

to me, he has not shown himself approved.
y'all can believe whatever you want. a I hope you find security and affirmation in something.

but I truly hope the something you find security in is true.

...and this ain't that.
