When the rest of us talk about the building blocks necessary to fix the systemic issues white ppl love to "have hard conversations"->

- Satine Phoenix defended Mearls for some time and made a big huff when presuure was put on her to break ties with Grim*saur, well-known racist and shitheel
- Scratticus' inclusion and diversity team is mostly white, with only one PoC outside of-->

There are other companies I'd mention but they aren't relevant or influential enough yet to be worth the smoke I'd get for saying it, but you know who you are.

Your taste in ppl to support fuckin' sucks by and large, y'all. I'mma be 100% honest.

All you need is a brand and a slogan and maybe some token rep here or there and you're ready to go. Don't look into who's in charge, who's getting paid and who isn't, etc.

Buncha QRT's regarding bad takes wrt #FireMikeMearls came across my feed yesterday, w/ allies tripping over themselves to say how shocking and bad they were.

Know what I noticed most? I had never fucking heard the name of one of the QRT'd people. They were nobodies. Irrelevant.

But everybody wanted to come out the woodwork to polish their ally badge in the sun. Ever notice those who self-identify as "calling out bullshit in the community" mostly do it when it's against folx who either A) won't risk their clout or B) already have momentum against them?

I'm tired of this shit and the only reason I haven't hopped into DM's w/ all the ppl I trust to give them the heads up is it would quite literally be like... 4-8 ppl they follow/support each where I'd have to explain it. Every time. Bc no one knows. Bc no one makes it their-->

business to know. So it builds up until one of these ppl slips up and gets outed, or the weight of their rep is too great that they stick around while everyone passes A Secret That Everyone Knows around in DM's.

A couple threads got tossed around the other day about "who's safe, who's reliable, who's a good person", and they all ended up looking like Follow Friday threads inside 24 hours.

Here's MY hot fuckin' take:

Stop looking for "Good People" and start looking at ppl doing Good.

Not whether they SAY they do good, or stand for X, Y, and Z. Nah. Don't trust what ppl say. Trust what they do, who they do it with. Question their motivations for doing it.

I know a lot of you are big hearted ppl who just want to trust and take 'good beans' at their word in the indie TTRPG space.
