Thinking about all these accounts sharing their lockdown experience in light of the Cummings debacle.

All those people who didn't get to see their loved ones before they died, who couldn't attend their funerals, who have had to cope with the stress of keeping kids indoors during
a sunny early summer, especially those SEN children for whom this whole thing must be so traumatic.

The temptation is to "like" their tweets. But I don't want to reduce their suffering and anguish to a tick on social media.

I want to hug them, console them. To tell them that
their sacrifice meant something. That it was worthwhile, and that it was appreciated by all the people working to keep us safe, who kept the shops stocked, who drove the buses.

And I want to help them express the rage they must now feel knowing that their government holds them
in utter contempt. That the very people who asked for those sacrifices felt that they were above them, and who now risk further spikes due to their poor lead.

It feels like a betrayal. And my heart goes out to those who have given so much.
