First we need to know that the word translated "was" can also be properly translated as "became", this is important. Let's look at what God's Word has to say on the subject.

So we see, according to Isaiah the earth was formed to be inhabited. But inhabited by who, and why did it become void and without form?

The earth created in Genesis 1:1 was created to be inhabited by God's Divine family. Let's look at Ezekiel 28:12-19 for the answers of why it became void, and also to see that the garden was much different in the first version of Earth than what we read in Genesis.

From Genesis 6 we now look to Genesis 10 where we are told of the descendants of Noah's sons.

The book of Revelation tells us of 2 different but very similar beasts.
These beasts are better understood as systems of power and authority rather than individuals. We often hear about the Antichrist, but that word is found....

nowhere in the book of Revelation. However the concept can be found within the first beast system. I will take the time here to point out that Antichrist is properly translated instead of Christ, not necessarily against Christ. While similar these are important differences.

The book of Daniel, chapter 7 tells us of 4 beasts which are 4 world powers; Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome. The Roman Empire is the one we will focus on here. History tells us that towards the end of Roman dominance the empire was divided into 10 regions...

each with its own governor, or king, if you will. During this time is when the papacy came into the picture. The 10 regions revolted against the papal supremacy. The pope was able to destroy 3 of these kingdoms, while the remaining 7 became what we know today as Europe.

Thus the 10 horns, the little horn coming up and uprooting 3 horns as the book of Daniel tells us.

So where do we get the concept of antichrist (instead of Christ)?
