The only thing that could have saved the alt-right would have been turning against Trump and organizing in opposition to Trump in April of

2017, immediate after the first Syria missile strikes. Nothing else would have made a difference.

Would Ramzpaul have done that? No. He's been a Trump sycophant the entire time. He tactically withdrew support for Trump after the 2018 midterm elections, and is back on the Trump

train for 2020.

Only opposition to Trump and being an instrument in Trump losing the 2020 election would have kept the alt-right viable. Anything else is voodoo politics.
