"save it for group chat" isn't an option for everyone but not everybody has friendships and support like that! Let's also offer advice for folks who don't have close friends.
We tell people to talk to their friends a LOT. but that assumes (1) they have friends; (2) they're friends they can turn to.
I know it's sad to think a lot of people don't have friends and supportive friendships are a privilege, but it's the truth!

An adult abuse victim who was bullied and ostracized from her friends circle when she came forward.
And let me tell you...people are not rushing to be your friend after an abusive relationship. People don't like a sad person.

And having my abuser and his roommate monitor my private stuff didn't help, either.
Anyways, just saying have some compassion for folks who seek affirmation or support in public. You don't know what they lack in private.
