most of her life Amy has been alone. people disrespected her, laughed at her. she had no friends, no one to spend her birthday with. her mother wanted her to be in a relationship so badly that Amy was forced to go on unsatisfying dates once a year +

she has never felt truly accepted - until she met Sheldon. she fell deeply in love and finally got everything she wanted: friends, boyfriend, adventures. but let's be honest - even though I'm a huge fan of Shamy and I ADORE Sheldon, we need to admit he wasn't a perfect boyfriend+

he disrespected Amy a few times. he didn't really listen to her, didn't acknowledge her needs. I know he had the best intentions but he didn't know how to keep his ego in check +

now let's focus on how people who's been rejected all their lives can react once they finally feel accepted. obviously they might feel a huge need for reassurance. they also might stay in toxic relationships for years because they're sooo deathly afraid of being alone again +

but not Amy. even though she loved Sheldon with all her heart and he made her happy like no other, when she saw that their relationship is slowly becoming toxic, she said stop. she asked Sheldon to give her some time and space to think about it +

she was searching for the greatest good instead of choosing lesser evil. ofc they eventually get back together and I couldn't be happier about it, especially since Sheldon took some time to self reflect. but the breakup was SO NEEDED. thanks to Amy, they got closer than ever
