Don't mind me, just crudely testing with a bag of water if a counterweight makes the Oculus Quest more bearable to wear before I invest in a more elegant solution. It totally does!
The Quest is designed such that it's not touching the nose at all which means friction with the cheeks and forehead is all that's holding it up. Combined with it being heavy, it has to be strapped on super tight to not keep sliding down - at least for me.
Having it so tight is super uncomfortable for me after like 15 minutes - almost like a hangover. The counterweight means it can be much loser without sliding down so it stays decently comfortable for hours.
When I've figured out what weight works best for me (so far I tried 500g but less might be sufficient), I'll probably get one of these: https://www.studioformcreative.com/
