As a non-artist this is so embarrassing to post... *deep breath* ... #sailor for my first @Pixel_Dailies challenge. I've always wanted to learn pixel art so I've decided to commit to it every day through these challenges #pixel_dailies

[My thoughts about it in the thread below]
Been away from #gamedev for 18 months and now that I'm back into it I'm making my first 3D game - yay! So of course now I realize how much I miss making 2D games haha The one thing that always irked me in my previous games was my terrible pixel art. Time to change that.
Been wanting to do this for years, but could never commit. Felt like I didn't have the time. Didn't want to make crappy art. You're suppose to share your pixel daily challenge and it would be far too embarrassing. These are all excuses.
Every day I will attempt the Pixel_Daily challenge. The above piece was only 20min worth of work. I'm going to give myself 30min a day for this challenge. Obviously more time would be better, but my main focus is the game I am developing, as well as becoming a better programmer.
I'm excited to see how this goes. I don't expect a year from now to be an amazing pixel artist producing pieces like the one in this tweet. My programmer-sided brain (is that the left side?) would take many, many years to get anywhere near this level lol https://twitter.com/SazdxHikari/status/1264789255420862464
What I do know is that I'm bound to improve with time and effort. Hell, even when I was making 2D assets for a couple months for a game (sadly unfinished) I was able to make cute #pixelart like these (although they took me like 3 hours each haha).
Anyways, I just thought I would throw all my thoughts out into this long, probably unnecessary, thread lol If somehow you've made it to the bottom of this thread just know that you are awesome ♥️
