"On the beaches of the Tigris", composed in 1950th by Iraqi Jewish musicians Dawood&Salih, known as al-Kuwaiti brothers, renewned by #Dudu_Tassa, Dawood's grandson by his mother

Rough translation of some lyrics of it with:

"My love, on the beaches of the Tigris, pass at dawn"

"How beautiful our dawn when it comes"

"The Tigris is our river, irrigate our trees"

At the beginning of the 20th century, the Iraqi Jews took the initiative to develop Iraqi music well-known "Maqam" to establish style known as #Chalghi, which consider the spirit of #Baghdad until today.
You will not pass Al-Rasheed & Mutanabi streets without hearing it

By the 1950th in Baghdad, there were many bands specialized in "Chalghi", The most famous: Hoki Batto, Shaul Basun, Hasqil shumuli, all of them are Jewish

This song is a poem by Abd al-Karim al-Allaf. It composed by Saleh & Dawood for the famous Iraqi Jewish singer #Salima_Murad, the wife of the famous singer #Nazem_Al_Ghazali.
The story of their love & marriage was famous, then Al-Ghazali's early tragic death & her deep sadness

Salima Murad one of the greatest Iraqi singers, some art critics called her Edith Piaf of Iraq at that time, she was given the "Pasha" title for her contribution in the Iraqi culture

In 1950th-1960th the Jews were forcibly displaced from Iraq, the brothers Saleh & Dawood left to Israel.
Until 2003 it was forbidden to talk or write about their role & achievement in Iraqi song even though they were founders
