Fascinating podcast on the tough situation Barr has placed Judge Sullivan in the Flynn case - what should a Federal Judge do to protect the American people when the Government is no longer asking to uphold the rule of law? https://twitter.com/talkingfedspod/status/1264811466097475584
Normally, when anybody lies in front of a District Judge, that judge makes a criminal referral to the U.S. Attorney. But...what if the U.S. Attorney's aim is - bizarrely - to protect an individual from criminal consequences, as Barr is doing with Flynn?
Even if you're not a professional able to navigate the jungle of judicial rules of procedure at the Federal level, you can see Judge Sullivan's conundrum - how can anyone ensure the rights of the American people when its government is specifically asking to ignore the rules?
(And by "government" I mostly mean "Barr and a few dudes who were jammed into position by that desperate mook from Queens," not the thousands of dedicated Feds who work hard every day.)
