There were many ways for you to get points in the game, which were pretty much extra time. Cunning stunt bonuses, collection of time or add ons for your car, going through checkpoints, etc. All races started with a limited time, you had to gain time to complete the race

In the first iteration of this game, one of the pedestrian types was an old lady, and if you hit her she'd shout "I was in the war!", in a British accent.
