We often ask God to hear his voice.

The gag is that he’s been talking but our ears are clogged.
Ever had a clogged ear? The experience is horrible. You can’t hear. It’s constant pressure on the side of face. It just feels like a brick in your ear-disrupting you from peace.

A clogged ear can also prompt you to misinterpret what you hear due to BLOCKAGE.
Before we get into blockage, why is it important to hear God’s voice? Let’s go to scripture.

In Matthew 13, Jesus explains the parable about the farmer that scatters seeds. Let’s look into it.

“He told many stories in the form of parables, such as this one...
“..Listen! A farmer went out to plant some seeds. As he scattered them across his field, some seeds fell on a footpath, and the birds came and ate them. “Other seeds fell on shallow soil with underlying rock. The seeds sprouted quickly because the soil was shallow..
..But the plants soon wilted under the hot sun, and since they didn’t have deep roots, they died. Other seeds fell among thorns that grew up and choked out the tender plants. Still other seeds fell on fertile soil, and they produced a crop that was thirty, sixty, and even..
...a hundred times as much as had been planted! Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand.””
Matthew 13:1-9 NLT

So what does that mean? Let’s break it down.
“Listen! A farmer went out to plant some seeds. As he scattered them across his field, some seeds fell on a footpath, and the birds came and ate them.”

The farmer scattering seeds represents the followers of Christ ministering unto others sharing his Good News. Let’s keep going
“As he scattered them across his field, some seeds fell on a footpath, and the birds came and ate them.”

As we profess the Gospel and the works of Christ to many, some just won’t answer that call. Better yet, they won’t even be by the phone. Jesus knew this though. Even then.
The last sentence is strikingly important though.

“Some seeds scattered fell on a footpath, and birds came and ate them.”

Seeds that were meant for harvest are now being devoured by something that will surely halt the harvest.

Ever heard the term “words falling on deaf ears?”
As we plant our “seeds” of Christ, we have to be cognizant that some of our planted “seeds” will never take root because some people are not comfortable being grounded. Due to that, they remain susceptible to the enemy and his devouring. (The bird that ate the fallen seeds)
Moving forward into the next verse:

“Other seeds fell on shallow soil with underlying rock. The seeds sprouted quickly because the soil was shallow.”

Have you ever watered a shallow soul? Someone who plays a role but not a part? Jesus knows all to well how that goes. Let’s read
“But the plants soon wilted under the hot sun, and since they didn’t have deep roots, they died.”

Christ gives us a snapshot of the world today with this scripture. Many will claim to accept God and accept who he is without really seeking his face and surrendering to his will..
..and because we don’t surrender, our walk with him can only go so far.

Shallow soil yields shallow results.

To receive, one has to be receptive.

Same with planting seeds.

Same with listening and hearing God’s word.

Without reception, we make way for regression.
Because if we aren’t rooted in him, we cannot focus on (or find) his voice if he’s speaking to us. How can we HEAR him if we don’t KNOW him? Those “roots” must be DEEP to RECEIVE.

The next verses are 🔥 stay with me.
“Other seeds fell among thorns that grew up and choked out the tender plants.”

What if I told that some of your DESOLATION is tied to your ASSOCIATION?

“Bad Company Corrupts Good Morals” - 1 Cor. 15:33

Some people perish simply because of who they are growing NEXT to.
Evaluate your surroundings because if God is calling you to be an Oak Tree 🌳 yet you desire to be close to Cacti 🌵, you’ll never find your heavenly height because that environment isn’t conducive to your construction! A DESERT is no place for tree with DEEP roots 🗣
“Still other seeds fell on fertile soil, and they produced a crop that was thirty, sixty, and even a hundred times as much as had been planted!”

When you are in God’s purpose and position, harvest is INEVITABLE. Is your seed one that bears fruit for him? His glory?
Those seeds we plant that reap harvest come from fertile soil.

What does fertile soil look like in our lives?

Generosity.
Grace.
Love.
Faith.
Kindness.
Patience.
Selflessness.

And most importantly, salvation within Christ.
Within that salvation, obedience is necessary. (See 1 Sam 15:22-24)

Obedience activates opportunity.

Through your faith and the application thereof, you grant God the opportunity to restore, redirect, and reinvigorate your life.
This application of obedience welcomes harvest.
Which leads us to our last verse,

“Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand.”

For us to receive God’s voice, we have to be receptive. What blocks that reception is doubt, distress, and dumb decisions. Sin (all of them) clouds judgement and spiritual clarity.
To release BLOCKAGE in a CLOGGED EAR, one must refrain from the steps that gave them the blockage in the first place.

“Earwax” needs to be removed in your life so that you may clearly hear God in this season.

So, one question before I end the thread:

Can you hear him now? 🙏🏾
