the shivalaya of Somnath used to stand with the same splendor every time. But Somnath is not important only because of this splendor. Somnath's temple is on the west coast of India and in the known history of thousands of years this Arabian Sea has never crossed its limits!

Do not know how many thunderstorms, storms, cyclones have come, but there is no loss of the temple due to any storm & cyclone. There is a pillar (Khamba) in the courtyard of this temple. It is known as 'Banastambha'. It is difficult to tell when this pillar has been there.

since about 6th century the name of this stambha comes in the history, but it does not mean that the Banastambha was built in the 6th century, it is believed to have been built hundreds of years ago.

The simple meaning of this line is,
If a straight line is drawn from this point of the Somnath temple to the South Pole (ie to Antarctica), there is not a single plot in the middle.
Is it true? It is possible to find this in today's era of Tantra science, but not as easy.

After searching in G-map, the plot is not visible but that big plot went ahead by 'Enlarge' the map to see smaller plots. This is a long task, but patiently & slowly looking at it, there is not a single plot. That is completely that there is truth in that Sanskrit sloka!

But even the basic que. remains same if even assuming that this arrow pillar was built in 600 AD. Even then, at that time where did this knowledge come from, is the South pole of Earth? Even if we knew that South pole was known, then not a single plot comes in a straight..
