I’m prepared to follow the rules out of choice and on the basis that if exceptional, urgent and important things happen, government, society and neighbours will have the kindness and compassion to allow some flexibility in their interpretation. What are we becoming?

Furthermore, there are thousands of people out there suffering because they are anxious about ‘breaking the rules’, often needlessly. This witch-hunt is only going to deter those anxious people from doing the things they need to do to keep themselves sane, safe and well.

Yes government communications is partly to blame but that has been made difficult by a dumb-insolent media playing stupid games with semantics. What is worse is the judgement and approbriam which inhibits people from using their common sense out of fear.
