One thing i have noticed from film twitter is that we're FINALLY admitting that Willem Dafoe is indeed, hot.

So....let's talk about the aesthetic of men who look like him, that is "Tampang Janda / Widow-looking men"....

(1/?)
(warning: this is super random/super ngasal im just trying to explain why these men are hot ty dont judge me and dont talk to me about the choices unless u can name all hy/pmic song to me or buy me arknights in-app purchases ty)
Also this term isn't made by me! An anime twt mutual of mine, @dcndranthcma! and they mainly uses it to describe anime men who look like this (wisdomful yet looks older and looks sad) but the term can apply to real men too!
Now, what IS a "Tampang Janda / Widow-looking men" ?

Basically, men who look older and exhausted 24/7 in general. Even when they're happy, they still look exhausted! (other examples on next tweets)

(Pictured: Pier Paolo Pasolini)
"Tampang Janda (or Muka Janda/Janda) / Widow-looking men" usually have these characteristics:

1. Looks older than their real age
2. Eye bags
3. Wrinkles (that is unusual for their age)
4. Eyes that makes them look tired/grumpy all the time (IMPORTANT)
5. Basically rugged-looking
And why 'Janda/Widow'? Bc widows are characteristically tired-looking and exhausted. And the impression and energy these men gives off are 'old widows who have seen it all'

And one thing about them that they are almost always Character Actors!
Character Actors have to do extra work to get more money, they don't have the privilege to pick-and-choose. You can see where this leads to.

(also it's bc that they're not attractive to hollywood standards so they rarely get lead roles)
why do we like men who look like these? Simple, it's that they're unconventionally attractive --- ruggedness and age, for some, are hot. It's that simple tbh

So there you have it ---- "pria janda (tampang/muka janda) / widow-looking men"
