There are currently zero votes in Parliament to implement the WEAG reforms. No Green MP has introduced a bill. No Green MP proposed a single amendment to the Social Security Bill in 2018. The current benefit system is what it is *because* the Green Party unanimously voted for it. https://twitter.com/JulieAnneGenter/status/1264823633517543427
My suggestion the Greens should vote against the budget, is I think fair given their statements, but I accept its membership supported a confidence & supply agreement, so it won't happen.
But the Green Party definitely could have put up amendments to the Social Security Bill.
New Zealand First might have voted against, causing them fail. Labour might have voted against. The Greens could still have voted for the final reading, without their amendments, because the bill is an improvement, if not enough. But they didn't even try, not even for show.
