I am a jobbing intensivist.
I know nothing of politics
But I have questions for @BorisJohnson

But I have questions for @BorisJohnson
If ‘following your instincts’ is the law, why did

1. My colleagues and I have to have end of life discussions with patients’ families over the phone rather than face to face.
2. Why did nearly 50% of U.K. ICUs prohibit all visiting? Others only allowed visiting at end of life

3. Many people that we could allow to visit couldn’t. Because they were vulnerable, shielding, or self isolating
4. My ICU colleagues- nurses and doctors sat with dying patients, holding their hands, because their families couldn’t.

Any of these situations could have been avoided if only people (including me) had ‘followed their instincts’
But we didn’t. Why? Because we trusted the government advice.
Are you going to apologise to the country?
Your credibility is destroyed

When you announce another lockdown, no one will believe what you say
Because the rules only apply to the plebs
Are you going to think again?
Please don’t clap for the NHS on Thursday.
Just do what’s right.

What do you think of your decision to kill thousands of people through indirect messaging vs saving the job of one lying idiot?
