Motivated by The last Dance i decided to re-do every Regular season MVP since 1971 using only advanced stats.
I primarily used four stats - Win Shares, WS/48, Box +/- and VORP from @bball_ref.
The year is the one in which the season concluded.
Surprisingly, I only changed 13 MVPs. If the numbers were close I stuck with original winner.
Of the 13, Jordan, LeBron and Kareem accounted for 8.
All 3 victims of voter fatigue.
Orange = award changed
Yellow = Obvious MVP
* = MVP year but coincided with another incredible year.
Big winners were:
Jordan +4
Kareem +2
LeBron +2

Dirk, Robinson and Shaq all move to multiple MVPs.

Chris Paul picks up a thoroughly deserved MVP. Arguably the most harshly treated player in NBA history when it comes to MVP voting.
Worst decisions I found in no particular order:

- 2008 Kobe
- 2006 Nash
- 2001 Iverson
- 1994 Hakeem
- 1973 Cowens

All players had fine years but there was a clearly far superior player in all of them.
