One of my ongoing annoyances is the lack of spiritual consent & respect among witches in regard to spirits. We stomp about in nature, pushing our energy out & onto everything; every fallen leaf a sign for us; we find a dead animal in the wild & mistake our emotions for its 1/?

...pain & then call its spirit back just so we can cross it over; we snatch bones, plant matter, & stones from the wild with little consideration of the role they plan in that location; we feel strong energy & dismiss the warning in favor of celebrating that we felt something.

The single greatest point I keep trying to make in all of my courses is that *it's not about us.* The spirit world & the spirits who share the physical world with us largely do not gaf about us. They do not exist for us just as no living human exists for us.

No one is waiting around to give us messages &guidance. We're not that special. We are each one being among many. Our world is filled with living beings & spirit beings alike. And they all got shit to do that doesn't involve us. This is why respect &consent are so damn important.

If you approach the natural world and/or the spirit world with entitlement, your experiences will reflect that. Respect & remembering your place (one among many, so not special) are essential in establishing strong relationships with the very beings you seek to know.
