News outlets seem to be treating people who ignore distancing guidelines with same sensationalist approach they tend to approach right/left extremists: vast majority of population actually isn't doing any of this but as long as they can find a few who are, it's national news?
Whatever news time is spent on pictures of people at a beach or whatever could be repurposed towards accountability work towards lawmakers and businesses who are failing in their economic and public health response.
Even as community stories, there's more socially useful forms of coverage that are possible. For instance, instead of sending the photographer to the beach, send them to the food bank, homeless shelter, senior assisted living facility, ask about needs, etc.
