They claim Newsom has no authority over the election because the Constitution gives the authority to state legislatures.
So they want the federal court to tell California how to run its election when the Constitution says it& #39;s up to the states . . .

The argument is this: "Because the governor can decide whether to have in-person voting, he can do this in a way that is unfair and unconstitutional, therefore, the federal court should step in."
