This wins first place in the silly lawsuit contest. 🏆 https://twitter.com/abbydphillip/status/1264707779471818757
I'm reading it now. It's here: https://prod-cdn-static.gop.com/media/documents/1_Complaint_1590362477.pdf

There is no merit to this lawsuit, no legal authority for it, and I don't see how the RNC has standing. https://twitter.com/BethKneller/status/1264762060681994241
They claim Newsom has no authority over the election because the Constitution gives the authority to state legislatures.

So they want the federal court to tell California how to run its election when the Constitution says it's up to the states . . .
Remember when the Republican Party pretended to care about federalism and states' right and a limited federal government 🤣🤣 ?

And why is this the RNC's business?

Because (so the lawsuit claims) the RNC have to educate Republican voters in CA about the new system. 🙄
This is one of the more nonsensical arguments⤵️

The argument is this: "Because the governor can decide whether to have in-person voting, he can do this in a way that is unfair and unconstitutional, therefore, the federal court should step in." 🤦‍♀️
I should stop making fun of stupid. I know I should.

But I kept reading and hit this gem ⤵️

Argument: The changes Newsom made "create incentive to remain away from the polls."

DUH! The point IS TO STAY AWAY FROM POLLS via mail-in ballots 🙄🤷‍♀️
