/ @N_Waters89 here is a thread for one of my fav little shills. Talking about Pantsir's effectiveness. One pantsir unit cost for s-1 is about 13 million. 8 have been confirmed out of service. So cost around a little over 100 million. However, we'll look at the 140 million or so
/ lost by Turkish drones. Hopefully Nick is good at math and can figure out that his turkish jerk-off fantasy is just that, a fantasy and that in war, it is a battle of attrition, and it looks like Turkey is looking like they're losing faster than they can replace. Also in this
/ thread. We'll simplify it by just sticking to Turkish drones. So this will consist of UAE and Syrian Pantsirs vs Turkish Operated drones in Libya and Syria. We'll start off in Syria. On 25 Feb and 1 March two Anka-S were shot down in the Saraqib area.
/Then in the following two days. Two more were confirmed down in the Saraqib area. More were claimed by good sources- but were most likely downed in terror-controlled areas, so no photo evidence. So I will not count those.
/Switching over to Libya. This is where the Pantsir has dropped TB2s like fleas. 16 with photo confirmation in the last 6 months. These are all multi-million dollar units.
First photo-confirmed downed was 13 December in Tripoli Area.
/ Next one took another month, but yet another. This one given to their Muslim Brotherhood puppets was downed on 22 January.
/ From this point on, they started dropping very hard in Libya. On Feb 25, one was dropped near the Tripoli Intl Airport.
/ The next day one was dropped in Souk Al-Khamis. https://twitter.com/Libyan_News/status/1232674244863168513
/ Then two days later, another two were downed in the area of Tripoli.
/ The following day, another was dropped in Misrata.
https://www.facebook.com/Oil.Crescent.News/videos/2600041290285281/?t=0
/ It crashed into the Air School there, the link shows the actual video of the shootdown.
/ That same day in Al Tawaisha, yet another one was shot down by the UAE owned pantsir.
On April 11, yet another was shot down near a playground in Tarhouna.
/ 6 days later, one was downed in Wadi Dinar
/ Later that night, yet another (pantsir is soo useless lol) was downed in Nasmah.
/ This is getting tiring, this useless system keeps knocking down these invincible toys of @N_Waters89 jerk off fantasy- but I will carry on. The next day near tripoli one was taken down mainly intact. Might not have been pantsir this time to be fair.
/Then skipping over close to the present on 2 May this one was certainly shot down on the outskirts of Tripoli.
/ 10 days later the useless pantsir (guess what comes next) once more shoots down a TB2, this time in Ash-Shwayrif
/ Once more in Tarhouna, yet another TB2 is shotdown at night (how can such a useless system do that?!).
/ Now just one more TB2- the most recent was taken down in Al-Shuwairef.
/ Now time for the bonus round. An IAI Harop was taken down in Al-Hamada
/ And one more while I'm at it. A Bayraktar Mini was shot down late March
/ Now what am I trying to say here? That the Pantsir is an amazing system? That Turkish drones sucks? That I support something over something else? None of the above. In analyzing weapons effectiveness, the worst place to turn to are idiotic Diaper Salespeople at Bellingcat
/ There job is to make shitty memes and they often get caught up in fawning over weapons such as drones. They aren't objective and can't do any analysis. What we can see from this thread is that the Pantsir inflicts a lot of damage on these systems. 20 drones that cost from
/ 5-25 million per unit is no laughing matter. They of course have issues, but they are performing their roles. And if looking at actual production costs- it shows that in these conflicts it may be the drones that are taking the bigger hits if we add up the numbers. AD systems
/ are not perfect/ nor impervious to getting hit. You can beat ANY ad system by overwhelming it or other countermeasures such as flying under the radar (literally!). But the point is to limit the number of enemy objects in the sky. The Pantsir is doing that. In two days it
/ knocked out 8% of the whole Anka-S fleet Turkey had. In Libya it has knocked down a large portion of deployed drones. So while Turkish drones have done well against it in some regards, it has also performed well against them.
/ And to any of my followers. None of this is political. I am not saying whether Russia is good politically or if Turkey is good politically or anything like that. We just need to take an objective look when analyzing AD systems instead of just saying Hur Hur the AD system was
/ hit. Yeah somewhere. If they never were hit, then they'd truly be a wonder weapon- taking out 150 million or so dollars of drones in 6 months taking no damage. However, genuine people know reality means that if you do damage you have to take some. So the question is for the
/ S1 operators, is how many systems are they willing to lose. For a rich country like the UAE, the answer is many. And they are dropping Turkish drones at a good rate, so for them it is worth it. I may come back to this thread later, but I hope this shed some light on the
/ actual effectiveness of the Pantsir S-1. Feel free to respond with stupid memes or non-substantive comments. Or better yet, ignore as I know you can't participate in civil discourse in those who disagree with you @N_Waters89, that's not the elliot higgins way.
