I wonder kailan mabibigyang pansin ang “TECHNOLOGY” sa strand na STEM or it happens na sa ICT talaga dapat magtungo ang aspiring developers and programmers, pero what about the data scientist? Algorithms along the way? Number systems? And many related stuffs sa technology?
As I’ve experienced my freshman year taking BS Com Sci as a former STEM student... I’ve realized that STEM is a good stand to be more competitive and to have wide range of intellect in d field of S.E.M. But if pursuing degrees on technological aspect, I recommend ICT.
In my freshman year sobrang hirap magcope up, makipagsabayam ang hirap matutunan kasi kahi basic wala kang alam. Nangangapa ka sobra. Ur classmates will start saying AI’s , algos pero ako na isang STEM, let’s talk about bio , earth science and research na Lang.
Thankfully May calculus na isa sa advantage or great advantage namin sa field, pero it is a once time event Lang, a minor one sa degree namin. Programming kills us. Yung bunch of ICT’s mates ko nahihirapan , eh paano pa akong galing sa STEM? Ikamamatay na. I realized na keri pa..
Yung mga engineerings stuffs , chemistry , mathematical equation, yaka ko pa. Pero programming... ibang usapan na pala yon Lalo na wala kang ideya how to simply program a simple problem. Anyways, sabi ng nila there is room for improvements. Practice makes perfect.
This thread is not a blame, it is just a self realization. SHS will fully equip you to achieving your dream if and only if you choose wisely the strand you’ll gonna take to attain ur degree in college. After all I’m proud that I am once s STEM student. Padayon!
