My 4yo boy & I were playing with toy cars all this evening
He said “only a man can drive these cars” & I asked him “what about a woman” and he said “they don’t race like this to the mountains”
showed him this photo:

I told him she was an amazing driver who drove his favourite car (Alpine A110) in the 70s.
His face was shocked! he said “that’s so cool!”
5 minutes later we were playing with cars & he said “woman driving this car!”
Seeing Michèle Mouton made a significant impact on him.

We have to teach boys about these things.
We have to teach them that others breaking barriers and disrupting the status quo is good.
The world is more than what they see or assume.
The barriers were manufactured, temporary—-they can & must be broken down with effort!
