I seem not to be alone in this, which is reassuring, if unexpected.

For those keeping score, other leading objects of grudgification include Herbert Hoover, the British Empire, the Catholic Church, whoever burned down the library of Alexandria, and Woodrow Wilson.

Oh, and Europe.

Despite intervention by people who know things about what really happened to the Library of Alexandria, the alleged arsonist remains a top contender for Most Begrudged. Meanwhile, Oliver Cromwell has come from behind to make a late run for the leaderboard!

We have a request (from myself) to clarify why Oliver Cromwell is so prominent on the shitlist. As an American, all I can recall is "No parties!" and a creepy death-mask.
