"simping" sounds a lot like erotomania

seeing some of the examples of such all over the place w twitch streamers and obsessive, creepy fans

it really just looks like erotomania

could all of those creepy fans just be mentally ill? it makes sense, sorta

to clarify, there's an obvious clear divide between a lot of cases of erotomania and "simping", but there are pretty clear parallels too

i think it's interesting food for thought and discussion

the similarities - an obsession with some figure, such as a celebrity or a streamer or anyone, really

the will to take their obsession to ridiculous lengths in hopes of gaining something from it

ill give it some more thought and come back to this thread if i think up more
