I wasn’t sure I wanted to post about this here but I’m briefly feeling OK so I just wanted to say that I am in the hospital following emergency surgery to remove my gallbladder this morning. Surgery went fine. Not sure if I’m here another night or not.
I’m feeling pretty bad because the gallbladder sitch got me some pancreatitis which is really very terrible and painful so even tho old GB is gone I still have the pancreatitis and the only thing that makes me feel better is heavy duty painkillers and anti nausea meds.
Yesterday morning I woke up at 4am in terrible pain that I thought was bad heartburn and/or I had an ulcer (again). So I waited it out and took tums and priority but it never got better. After about 7 hours and a pretty intense bout of sobbing I talked to a doctor on the phone.
She could hear even over the phone how bad it was and referred me to the IRL urgent care. I got a ride from my actual angel roommate @enbi666 (they are all angels tbh) and got some tests done. The pain was so bad I had to stop in the middle of the sonogram to puke.
The doctor came in and gave me some drugs and I felt well enough to finish. When I went back to the room wait for the doctor after, the lack of pain made me immediately fall asleep in the chair.
Eventually the doctor came back in and TLDR said “surprise! You have a bed waiting for you at the hospital where you are going to go right after this and get your gallbladder removed!” and I swiftly began texting people and arranged for my partner to bring me there.
Usually today is our social distance date day and this was not what I had in mind but still very glad I got to see them before having emergency surgery! When we got here they were not allowed in with me (pandemic and all) so I went on to my room by myself.
Turned out I wasn’t scheduled for surgery until first thing the next day but still was staying overnight. They gave me more drugs and I basically spent the rest of the night texting people until I fell asleep.
Finally I had surgery this morning and it went well and I may or may not be here one more night. Since I’ve been texting a lot of people the same thing over and over and I don’t have much energy for that, I figured I could just post here! Now I am going to go back to sleep

I’m staying another night in the hospital because the pancreatitis pain and nausea is pretty bad still. I feel alright now thanks to drugs though! I’m actually glad to stay another night bc I was really scared to experience that pain at home. Much better to have IVs and things!
Also they gave me a covid test and I am covid negative! Holy shit that test SUCKS. They really do stick that thing up into your brain and wiggle it around!
In here one more night! Waiting on this morning’s labs but it is likely I’ll go home today! Really looking forward to my own bed, my own food, and a shower! Also not having an IV in my arm!
