I keep deleting tweets about this but -- every single big media publication is rushing to write articles about sex work recently. Guess sex sells so you gotta print sensationalizing sex workers is useful material to keep alive dying publications and precarious paychecks
Predatory reporters and academics use the same tactics that predatory clients and police use. There is absolutely no difference.
When journalists call you up and throw questions at you so that you ramble and give things away you're not sure you want to, how is this different from a cop? When journalists refuse to put questions in writing & refuse quote checks but air you out in the court of public opinion
How is this different from a cop? From hostile judges?

When journalists call you up citing they're from big media and their deadline is tonight, that you'll only get cited because they're looking for particular answers

How is this different from predatory clients?
I can go on and on. But I'm so angry and I wasn't even the one quoted!

I keep being terrified of writing my own material because stigmatized populations deserve to be treated with incredible sensitivity and I'm terrified that I don't have the right tools and training
