as a cis lesbian with a trans woman, it’s exhausting that we constantly need to justify our relationship

to everyone, even in the our community

she is not a predator. i’m not a fetishist

we need to have a serious conversation about how relationships like ours are perceived

trans women who are interested in cis women are overwhelmingly portrayed as predatory, or perverted sex freaks

and as a cis lesbian, people treat my loving a trans woman as if i’m some poor, helpless lesbian who has been tricked

that is, obviously, far from the truth

furthermore, while it’s important to discuss fetishization, it’s so problematic to throw chaser accusations at any cis woman attracted to trans women

these relationships need to be normalized and able to exist OUTSIDE of discussions of transphobia
